A renowned South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the 40-year-old presenter was approached by a trio of assailants, one of whom began shooting at him before fleeing on foot.
The reason of the attack is unknown and no one has been arrested have taken place, as per the official statement.
Authorities indicated that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a premises close to the Carlton Centre.
He had devoted time at the building supervising the setup of safety equipment, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, it was reported.
