Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who breached a barrier and touched the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by fans.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the gathering by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last December.
"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user remarked.
Several supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said one more comment on Instagram.
Some supporters also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while others requested online networks to block Mr Wen's uploads.
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of attendees had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.
The motion picture, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part adaptation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two very different characters.
The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, winning a pair for best costume and artistic direction.
